ART MANIFESTO

Qualitism is an Art Movement, which is expressed through Arts, created from honest-quality.
Qualitism is a Philosophy movement based on being a path of creativity; a way of life, through "qualia", with honest-quality to meaningful life, where life is an art itself. Qualitism becomes a philosophy of life.
Mission: it is to bring attention to the preservation and development of thoughtful art created with honest-quality, which captivates the viewer, speaks to hearts of beholders and evokes emotion.

Its uniqueness is through a path of a creator, who is required to feel - one has to expose oneself to experiences courageously. The path to "qualia" art lies within one's own self. Once experience is gained the sincere response is formed. Creation of art is not a mere act of mind- absent manipulation of medium. Creation of art is an act of transmitting the internal world full of images and feelings perceived from the external universe.

One of the art forms belonging to this movement is the decorative art called "Sno Art". A fascination for paper as a material and with experimentation has led to an expression in highly detailed art pieces able to withstand the test of time. Based on years of research and experience, the movement was finally established in June 2022.

Qualitism embodies human knowledge of the past, however, we perceive and adopt it to current times in pursuit of bringing attention to what we believe in and are passionate about for the new generations to come.

There is no still point in a flow of time, it is the 21st century already - technologies get developed, frontiers are pushed forward. Qualitism is an opportunity and a tool to steer cultures in the direction of honest-quality and to remind us of undying values.

Qualitism doesn’t judge. It nurtures human skills when a pure heart channels creativity through the human mind and hands to make beautiful creations. It can preserve, harbour, treasure, nurture, and love the culture of craftsmanship, art and human creativity. Qualitism brings attention back to skill, craftsmanship and quality in creative process.

The Qualitism Movement and the future: it is a self-developing movement. It finds steady ground on proven principles of human culture, through the process of continually self-testing, learning and evolving.

  • Qualitism explained simply:
It is a path of a creation: 1. Through deep thought and self-reflection, 2. The creation process is led to a qualia (feeling), 3. Executed with honest-quality. An art created in Qualitism is a work one re-watches, re-thinks upon it, goes deeper, seeing something new in it. However, as any entity visually simple it far more complex once one looks deeper into it.
  • Postulates of Qualitism:
We bring back attention to skill, craftsmanship and quality in creative process. Postulates: 1. Quality not quantity. Strive for honest-quality. 2. Qualitism is a path of a creator. Make yourself better each day. 3. It is truly one can grasp the art piece only in person. 4. Art is to make one feel. 5. Feel, experience, live fully.
  • What makes QUALITISM: ART & PHILOSOPHY MOVEMENT different from all previous ideas of human history?
Qualitism embodies human knowledge of past times, however, we perceive and adopt it to current times in pursuit of bringing attention to what we believe in and passion about for new generations to come. There is no still point in a flow of time. It is a 21st century already - technologies get developed, frontiers are pushed forward. The Qualitism is an opportunity and a tool to steer cultures into direction of honest-quality and to remind of undying values.
  • Is there Anti-Qualitism movement?
As by laws of all natural things where there is positive there is negative, where there is darkness there is light, where there is Qualitism there is Anti-Qualitism. Our rivals state the art is a way of making business. Nothing wrong with the profit from creative process. However, there main point is to sacrifice depth, thoughtfulness and quality to quantity and short-term profit. Both ideas have a right to exist. It’s a choice that defines prolonged existence of either. What does your heart whispers you? What will be your choice?
  • What Qualitism can do for the world?
It can preserve, harbour, treasure, nurture, love, culture of craftmanship/ art/ human creativity. Art made in Qualirism tells a story. Invites you in. You can enter and walk inside the art picture/object. Qualitism doesn’t judge. It nurtures human skills when a pure heart channels creativity through human’s brain and hands to make beautiful good creations. History proves where a flow is there is resistance. Quick, lazy, thoughtless process of creation produces poor quality dull shallow art. Strive for quality will meet superficial art, and thoughtless art will have opponents routing for high quality art and craftsmanship. Through the prism of the Qualitism Art & Philosophy Movement one can comprehend values and characteristics of lazy mediocre art. Humans produced art since early beginnings of history, perfecting skills for centuries. The swing between poor and high quality existed triggering each other in most competitive ways. The Qualitism brings attention to preservation and need for ongoing improvement of art skills and craftsmanship.
  • Define Qualia?
Based on proposed term "quale" in philosophy of mind by american philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce in 1866. More modern interpretation has been used by C. I. Lewis in 1929. There are many definitions by date, and we have our own. In Qualitism we define "qualia" as "i know how does it feel". We emphasize the importance of experiencing art in person / first-hand. Art makes one feel, the more options to immerse yourself the more impact art will make. The Qualia is a philosophical term that describes the subjective experiences of individuals. Our art is inspired by this concept and explores the many different interpretations of qualia. Each art piece offers a unique perspective, inviting the viewer to delve deeper into the mysteries of the human mind and the complexities of perception. The Art is not only beautiful, but thought-provoking.
  • Define Honest-Quality?
"Quality arts" as a term, it may simply mean arts that are of high quality or that meet certain standards of excellence. The term is somewhat subjective and can refer to a wide variety of artistic works across different mediums, genres, and styles. In the context of art education or art criticism, "quality arts" may refer to the study or evaluation of works that are considered to be of high artistic merit, as opposed to works that are seen as amateurish or lacking in skill or creativity. However, what constitutes "quality" in art can be subjective and vary depending on individual tastes and cultural contexts. Five art principles: harmony, rhythm, balance, proportion, emphasis. Majority agrees on accepting universal outline of rules for so called “quality” art. However. Life shows situations where a unique set of characteristics are required to be defined. In short, quality is defined by a society group within its borders. We define as follows: The Honest-quality is a heartful intention, thoughtful process, intelligent execution, sincere effort, experience, understanding, honest perception. It is agreed on the necessity of the quality standards base for uniqueness to be installed upon such skeleton of knowledge and characteristics.
  • What does it is mean a Quality in art, artistry, craft?
Quality in art, artistry, and craft generally refers to the level of excellence or skill that is demonstrated in the work. It can refer to various aspects of the work, including the technical proficiency of the artist, the aesthetic value of the piece, and its overall impact or effectiveness. In terms of technical proficiency, quality may refer to the artist's ability to manipulate their materials or tools in a way that demonstrates a high level of skill and control. For example, a skilled painter may be able to create realistic and detailed images through careful use of colour, brushstrokes, and other techniques. Aesthetic quality, on the other hand, refers to the visual or emotional appeal of the work, as well as its overall harmony or balance. It involves factors such as composition, colour, form, texture, and style, and can vary depending on individual preferences and cultural contexts. Finally, quality in art can also be measured by its impact or effectiveness, which can refer to the work's ability to communicate a message, evoke an emotional response, or make a lasting impression on the viewer. This aspect of quality can be more subjective, as it depends on the viewer's personal experiences, perspectives, and values.
  • Qualitism and Sno Art: Thinking through making. Artist's story
Artist: "I am in my studio… details assembly stage… the fractals, ornament, patterns… it all brews inside my mind and comes out in so many variations. You go through principles of art, styles, proportions. You realise that all of them have a right to be. Suddenly the whole process becomes like a process of living a life. So many variations, so many options and not much time and you just keep pushing, keep doing these combinations, keep going. How do you choose which piece to put together? Why this one? Is it flat ones this time? Is it solid one? Or maybe flutes? What mood are you in today? Perfectionist? Proportionists? How to put in words all dance of thought and intricacies of feelings? It is weaving time. You weave those stripes of paper into ornaments and fields like doing braids from strips of life into one big adventure called life. Each ornament is unique. Unique touch and thought is dedicated to each one. We all are like snowflakes. We all are the same type but unique in each ones individuality. Each snowflake tells a story of a thought weaved into a beautiful ornament, it is a depiction of a moment. Order, balance, proportion, rhythm, pattern, contrast, emphasis, layers, composition, intuition, rules, ideas, form, shape, volume, depth, perspective. Multiple layers of the philosophy of visuals. An honest process needs time. Frozen time, time stood still, frozen moment, fragility of a moment, continuity of time, unstoppable run of time. How to catch a moment and depict it? How to depict a running moment in a still form? Beauty in a moment. A moment you can comeback to. A feeling that is caught in a visual piece of art. How do you describe your life? What is it combining from? Mine from moments when i feel. My art makes one feel. You hop in to the composition and start your wonder and visual journey untangling your thoughts on the way. The moment you think you ran out of options and ideas you see more of them. Just need to hold on, start doing, keep going. You think when you draw. You start and then the art object reveals itself to you. The hand knows the curves. You think through the material of each piece, it’s shape, form, depth. You put your self in a studio alone and make yourself feel. I am an artist of the light, of a feeling. I travel to feel and to see and then to transcend it all into art that will make people feel. Resonate with them. Evoke feelings and emotions in them. Make them wonder and provoke thinking in the them. I could do each snowflake perfect, but life’s beauty is in the imperfections. Plus life can’t be sterile beautiful. You follow the pattern of the snowflake, you eye starts with the detail and slides to another one and somehow you follow the whole pattern of it thinking about your life, and like in life, you stump upon imperfections, mistakes, and makes it real. Suddenly it is all real. My art triggers feelings, emotions and thinking in people. Meditation is an opportunity to relax or to wonder in your internal world and to get to know yourself closer. I have something to say to the world, something good and beautiful. Still, I leave a right or a room for each ones individual interpretations for sure. Because we all same species but still we see the world unique to each other. When assembling ornaments I specifically don’t make sketches to follow. I let the design flow and let myself come up with new variations on the go. Isn’t it this is the most ultimate satisfaction from design process? No constraints whatsoever with any limitations. On the contrary you let yourself wonder off and see what you come up with on the way. It is very pleasing to watch yourself during this process of creation. Joy, with all its struggles and happiness on the way."
  • Qualitism movement trigger. Question to the Artist
It has been a number of years already how this art philosophy movement has been brewing inside my mind. I want to make art objects and paint in the spirit of this art movement. Primarily this art movement is about making people feel through art, also, to bring back attention to quality art. I don't go against some types of art, which may be considered of poor quality, since art is a subjective matter. My goal is to spend energy on positive goal for shading light on good and beautiful creations. A simple big plastic poo on the wall might be a fun for someone, however, I want to bring attention to highly skilled and meticulous arts and crafts. Yes, they take lots of time and effort and money but that’s the point. Take tiles in Lisbon and Porto. Lace of Flanders and Venice. Celtic and Javanese intricate arts, and so many more in every corner of the planet. Absolutely stunning! These skill should be remembered. I am one more person, additionally, who wants to support high quality arts and crafts. Remember those beautifully crafted jewellery pieces created from ancient times to 20th century? Well, what did go wrong with humanity that we simplified everything so much? We rapidly lose craftsmanship and skills of really good quality art. Yes, consumerism demands, simplicity, short production times, and affordability, but we will degrade this way. Quality should be kept alive.
  • Why are you an artist? Question to the Artist
I look at the dancing reflections on the surface of ocean under the gentle sun and i want to capture the moment, to channel it through, to express it in my art, to create beautiful things for this world. I seem to cling to similar minded artists. Light. Those who see light similar with me. Landscapes, see landscapes similar. That’s great, they are teachers and inspirations. It’s a choice. That’s the beauty of life. I feel and transcend it and show people beauty i see. It resonates with best parts of them and sets a chain reaction of positive creation. They get uplifted, inspired, excited, pleased, satisfied, content and even happy. Uniqueness. A powerful fuel for creativity is a Uniqueness. Each human is one-of-a-kind thinking entity. Therefore, capable of creating. The world get filled with unique voices. Personal vision which cannot be repeated because there is only one individual of each one of us on this planet. I spent her life admiring beauty of this world and then transcending it, taking it in, feeling it, and taking through herself and then spent her life creating beautiful good art objects.
  • Who will stay needed when Ai upgrade from being a tool to an entity?
Ai? Human history shows cycles when something is unknow then fear triggers rejection and counter action in people. Let's imagine a scenario: If humans replaced by ai everywhere. --> Artist is replaced by ai. --> Ai is receiving a command from human what to draw. --> If doesn’t need a human and ai start to represent just a separate entity --> Starts to generate paintings by itself --> Ha! We've got another emerged artist. Exciting? Ai is just another addition to the world of artists, considering that this planet is full of artists, unique to themselves, because there is no one like you. That’s where there is something for someone. So many creatures so many tastes and opinions. --> Artists are safe in the world of ai. Uniqueness is something that can't be taken away if nurtured and developed inside individual. Be good at what you are. Test: We put two contestants. With a condition to not to interfere to each other’s processes. Ai and a human. Say… sculpture. Let’s take art for now. Ai has all digital tools and power. Human has all physical man-made tools. Both doing their task subjects. It has to be a competition of two individualities. Each creates to the best of their knowledge, and skill. Choose by evoked feelings and what you like more to look at in a long run. Ai becomes another creature. Fantastic another who joins universe of different beings. Well. Seeing all of it. What’s left? Same old logic: your competitor is you. Be better than you were yesterday. Perfect your skill, strive for honest-quality. Because everyone is individual and therefore unique. What do you want to do with unique? To do and show it in its most beautiful form. Therefore, do, enhance, develop and create beautiful things. Collaborate with ai, or/and use each other as tools, or/and as friendly peaceful stimulating rivals - but all in a friendly healthy competitive way. The importance of learning from each other is as poignant as never before. There is a place for everyone when each is kind. The world is a beautiful place to be.
  • What is good about being human?
Kindness and art. Or maybe the art of kindness. (Sounds good to me)
  • The world of quality things. Give us examples of what influenced. Question to the Artist
It is incredibly important to know the history of art, precedents and do your research. Nonetheless, sometimes not knowing and not being exposed to all precedents is a good thing for creativity. It is a fine line which needs to be navigated carefully. The world is breathtaking! Here some names of artist and art works one might find interesting; The list is neverending, however, let's start somewhere. Chris Burkard, american photographer and artist. • When I finally "got it" Monet moment. Question to the Artist
Claude Monet, Chicago Art Museum, Water lilies Artist: "I am sitting right in front of this painting. It is truly you can grasp the art piece only in person! Qualitism postulate 2: Art is for to make you feel. I think this is it. Finally, the genius of Monet hit me. Look at the depth of layers. All of them somehow play together and form a symphony instead of cacophony. He got it here on this paining! How water shines and rolls when get sun rays in top layer. Additionally, reflections of sky, clouds. Texture from layers of paint also helps to create depth. Large scale works, sometimes you need a large to transcend and communicate the feeling. He did catch the movement. Only in person you finally see it. You get in the canvas and able to walk there, to wonder."
  • Is Qualitism art for everyone?
Art speaks to people, resonates with people on individual level with each person. For each person it will be different. For some ugly, for some beauty. Art is subjective and personal, it is its strength and weakness. However, it always leaves a choice to the beholder, free will is still yours.
  • The process has been as a trial and error.
Started with fascination from abilities of paper and paper models. It was a few years trial and error process, starting from experiments, custom orders, research and exploration of material, philosophy. It proceeded to a stage of strive for perfectionism, however, during creations somethings evolved, some fell off, some became stronger.
  • Ornament art "Sno Art", is one of Qualitism mediums. The message.
Sno Art brings pleasure from visual aesthetics. It is a reminder of the beauty. The message to the world is to keep skill and hand craft valued, where imperfections emphasize beauty of handmade thing. Zoom out, impressive from a distance - when approach, come closer, zoom in and details start to reveal complexity. Most elements are of "the same tribe", however, each is one-of-a-kind. Now and then some elements have flaws like in nature. A powerful message of undeniable connection between human and nature, importance of looking closer to the world outside and inside. Emphasize on quality, time-consuming meticulous art.
  • Sno Art & Viewer
Linger in the moment, stop and look closer. Beauty in simplicity. Beauty in details. Precious moments, catch the moment, take time to appreciate. A moment like a snowflake: in a blink of an eye it passes by. Make/ allow yourself to feel. Let it captivate you, take in and make you wonder through the art piece. Think, meditate. The journey begins.
  • The way of Head-to-Hand connection:
As soon as you take a pencil in your hand and touch the paper, creations begin. You let your hand go. It starts to feel the pencil, the paper, the thought. It is extraordinary what can come out of the hand. The lines and shapes it creates are the path for a new idea. Once you take the paper in your hand you start to engage with the material that helps you to create the art object. Material itself helps to guess the future shape and to form and art object in its unique way. 1.Engage with material. 2.Let it ALL out, all thoughts. 3.Shake it, pick concepts & ideas to stay. 4.Develop. 5.Shake it all again, let strong stay. The journey from within begins. *Always keep all sketches and records.
